Uganda’s most remote park, with wide valleys, mountain views and few other visitors.

AreaAbout 1,440 km²
Getting thereTwo days by road, or about two hours by air
Best monthsSep to Mar
Nearest peopleThe Karamojong, who live around the park

Why go

  • Wide, empty views and very few other vehicles.
  • Ostriches, greater kudu and other animals you will not see in the rest of Uganda.
  • A chance to meet the Karamojong in their villages.

Worth knowing

  • It is a long way from everything else. Most guests fly in.
  • Some animals here are shy, so game drives take patience.
